Detection of pitting in Duplex Stainless Steel Tubes

Hi, 

What is the best-recommended technique for detection of pitting in Duplex Stainless Steel Tubes?. Can ECT and IRIS will be of use for detecting the pitting??. Request you to briefly explain with your valuable inputs. Awaiting for your response TechExperts!!!

Sorry to answer so late, i just joined and found your topic interesting.  For Duplex you cannot do standard ECT it could be done with RFT-ET.  I would recommend RFT-ET as the screening tool for detection and IRIS as prove up for sizing.  Actually i recommend IRIS on all RFT-ET applications as prove up for accurate sizing.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

You have mentioned RFT-ET, do you mean RFT and ET or there is some technique that use both the technique and give results?? I have heard about IRIS but people say it is a very slow technique and needs lots of preparations.
