What is the best technique suggested if we have 24” & 42” piping network processing propane & butane. The piping insulated with foam glass covered by metal cladding. Thickness of the insulation is around 5” thick.

The network can’t be shutdown for inspection. Please suggest.

HI, Pulsed Eddy Current Testing can be effective to screen the pipeline to get the information on the remaining wall thickness without removing the insulation. At TechCorr, we have a very good experience to inspect Propane system piping (operating at -11 deg centigrade) for one of our offshore clients in UAE.Please mention the thickness and material of metal cladding.
