Ultrasonic Computed Tomography / SAFT: The Next Generation of Ultrasonic Testing

Ultrasonic Computed Tomography or SAFT (Synthetic Aperture Focusing Technique) is a reconstruction technology that drastically improves the signal-to-noise ratio and the lateral resolution. In this video, the basics of SAFT are detailed and the benefits of SAFT are shown using the example of the commercial SAFT inspection of rotor forgings in serial production. In upcoming videos, TFM and Quantitative SAFT will be introduced.
