    is it possible to inspected the oil or gas welded pipe which is in service? I want to know that whether oil or gas in the pipe will influence with UT inspection result, especially.

    Mitesh !!! It all depends on which type of Ultrasonic test (UT) that you are conducting on the Oil or Gas pipe line. If its gas line then any UT technique should not have any effect but if its liquid and if one is using Ling Range Guided Wave Ultrasonic technique then the inside fluid will influence the test range to an extinct depending on the type of fluid that s flowing inside the pipe. Straight beam UT i.e. spot checks or Automated Ut Scanning should not have any effect on the readings.
