The PBU 350 Portable Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) Bench Unit offers great MPI performance teamed with the outstanding quality that Baugh & Weedon is known for. With a long rich history of designing and building MPI benches of all sizes, it is fitting that we have added the portable bench option to our range.

As well as the key features, there are various aspects of the PBU design that set it apart in the marketplace including the ability to add an inking system to the unit offering maximum flexibility to the inspector.

The PBU uses a gas spring to provide the clamping pressure on the headstock that ensures optimum electrical contact with the component under test. We have also developed the coil to offer bi-directional clamping allowing the coil to be manually rotated at 90o for maximum inspection flexibility.

Baugh & Weedon is pleased to present the LumaFlux, a truly Innovative NDT Product. The LumaFlux is a combined Dual UV / White Light Meter and Tangential Field Strength Meter in one rugged Instrumentation package. With an easy "Swap and Go" system to change Sensors, the LumaFlux rapidly switches between all the established functions of the LumaCheck Dual UV & White Light Meter and the unique benefits of the MagnaCheck 3D Tangential Field Strength Meter. The LumaFlux automatically recognises the Sensor that is connected meaning that the unit operates in the selected mode until the sensors are swapped.

The good news is that the LumaFlux has the same robust enclosure and sensors as the two predecessor Products and, of course, all the same benefits in measurement accuracy and efficiency. However, the LumaFlux is available at a price that is approximately 15% less than purchasing two separate Meters.

Not only is there a saving in capital cost, but the calibration costs for the LumaFlux will also typically prove to be significantly cheaper than calibrating two separate Meters.

LumaCheck Dual UV & White Light Checking

The LumaCheck Dual UV and White Light Meter has been designed to offer the user the most accurate results and versatile calibration options available on the market.

The LumaCheck is a unique system design, since it is the Sensor that stores the calibration details, not the Instrument itself, meaning that only the Sensor needs to be sent for calibration subject to the standards that your facility operate in accordance with. This allows the unit of the LumaCheck to be “hot-swapped” with another sensor and remain in continuous use.

The LumaCheck not only has a detachable Sensor Head, but also offers a detachable cable too allowing all aspects of the LumaCheck to be interchanged.

Lumazon Inspection Lamps

The Lumazon and Lumazon SL are dual LED UV and White Light Inspection Lamps for Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Inspection.

LED technology offers improved output, extended operating lifetime, greater efficiency due to instantaneous operation (no warm-up time) and financial savings from not requiring expensive replacement bulbs.

Two switches and a trigger are included on the Lumazon. The trigger acts as the on / off switch and adjacent to this is a ‘hold’ switch to maintain UV or White Light output in a constant manner. The other switch on the rear selects UV or White Light output.

With the exception of the trigger functionality, the Lumzon SL offers the same great features as the Lumazon hand-held inspection lamp.

Designed to be mounted to a bench, the Lumazon SL is fitted with an articulated arm, which allows the operator to freely position the lamp where it is needed.

Offering instant output of more than 4500 μW/cm2 (micro watts per square centimetre), the Lumazon SL is an ideal alternative to existing static lamps on MPI
benches or in inspection viewing booths.

The MY-2 is the smallest and lightest electromagnetic yoke currently available. It is encapsulated in a rugged housing that makes it extremely durable.

The MY-2 is a handheld unit featuring powerful AC magnetising, adjustable poles, and one handed operation. Its small size makes the MY-2 ideal for inspectiong different geometries, welds, castings and on site inspections, especially where there is limited access.

To maintain product quality it is important that every aspect of an inspection system is monitored regularly. ln particular the performance of an MPI system
is dependent on a number of parameters, each of which must be within acceptable procedural limits. Where magnetizing equipment is fitted with a timer to control shot duration, it must be calibrated on a regular basis, usually to an accuracy within +_ 0.1sec.

Ultrasonics (UT) Thickness Gauges Audit 105


Baugh & Weedon Ltd, have been designing and manufacturing Ultrasonic test equipment for over 40 years. During this period a policy of continuous technological development and close observation of user requirements has enabled us to offer an excellent range of thickness gauges for industrial applications.

The Audit Series provides users with an optimum combination of economy, accuracy, robustness and simplicity of operation.

Both Audit 105 and Audit 106 are exceptionally tough, yet well finished instruments. Electronic micro circuitry is housed in a rigid hermetically sealed ABS case, with a front panel membrane ensuring excellent environmental protection.

The standard DT25 probe is specially constructed to withstand the most arduous operating conditions and the roughest of handling. An integral probe lead is connected to the durable stainless steel probe housing via a flexible fitting to reduce the risk of
breakage. The cable is further protected by a covering sheath, and connects to the instrument via a robustly constructed plug.

An alternative DT15 Probe with separate lead is available. The DT1, used with a spring loaded holder, is able to locate accurately on curved surfaces down to a radius of 20mm.

CG2 Series gauges have a materials condition analyser and a BScan to generate real time graphic representations at speeds of up to 20Hz to inspect structures that may have defects such as corrosion or pitting.

Ultrasonic Digital Flaw Detectors - RDG 2000 - -2500- 2500S

The new design RDG 2000-2500-2500S digital flaw detectors are equipped with a high bright- ness screen for A-scan presentation and an op- erator interface via dedicated keyboard and video displays set around the special wave- forms panel. With different measurement methods available, special functions, an internal data logger, and complete output ability, the RDG 2000-2500- 2500S detectors are the most versatile of the new generation.

The high protection IP67 allows the use in workshops and construction sites being pro- tected against water and oil. RDG 2000, 2500 and 2500S can be used DAC or TGC and AVG/DGS curves. The DAC curves, which can be drawn on 10 points, can be selected on 3 level (0, -6, -12dB and one custom)with the possibility to read echo height respect to the selected curve. The AVG/DGS curves, for straight probes (e.g. DP25/2, DP25/4 and DP10/4) allow evaluation of the flaw equivalent diameter even when at- tenuation or transfer losses occur. The LCD colour TFT 7” display with adjust- able brightness, can work even in unfavourable light conditions.

Flip monitor function allows the automatic screen rotation depending on the handle opera- tor (hand right/left).

The new RDG 2500S ultrasonic flaw detector can automatically interface with the multi- transducer rotating probe dedicated to specific control of solid axles for railway field. It is configured to load calibration of the transducer selected by the switch on the rotat- ing probe. Each calibration panel recalled is identified by a message show on the display. Amplitude and depth analogical ouputs, video output (S-video) and a USB port are provided to be connected to PC. A optional software program operating under WINDOWS, is disposable to download to PC, calibration panels (100 memories complete of notes), defect (A-scan 1000) and thickness data (10000) stored in the unit (4000 for RDG 2000).

The very easy interaction with the operator, the very low weight (1.6 Kg with battery), the small size and the high battery life (> 14h) identify the RDG as a very versatile and useful tool for the ultrasonic general inspection.

Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) Tank Floor Scanner - Truflux

The Truflux is a new concept in Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) tank floor plate inspection, delivering a new level of user sophistication with innovative design. As a fully self-propelled high-resolution digital scanner, the Truflux is capable of producing highly accurate topographical images of 6-20mm storage tank floor plates.

Particular attention has been paid to the mechanical design, notably it's physical size, weighing in at just 32kg, inclusive of its slip-in-slip-out lithium ion battery pack.

The system is easy to use and highly practical; with the use of just one lever the Truflux folds down into a locked transport position. With reduced physical size and lower weight, handling and set-up requires little effort.

The hand-held Vista UV LED lamp has a white light and UV light function, as per ASTM E3022. As with all our lamps the Vista series is equipped with a UV Filter.

The Vista carries a 12.8 Mega-Pixel HD Camera with UV filter and is ideal for capturing images or video of inspections, enhancing data and reporting capabilities. The “intelligent” operation system is Android 4.4 based and data can be transmitted via Bluetooth, built-in Wi-Fi or Micro-USB.

The VISTA 45-C has 3 UV LEDs and a white light LED and an interchangeable lens.

The VISTA Series of UV LED Lamps can be powered both by mains or batteries; where applicable a battery life indicator will warn the operator when power is low in order to maintain smooth operations.

Models in the Vista range are compliant with ASTM E3022, E1417 ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and Rolls Royce: RRES 90061.

Opus

opusThe Opus is a mains only, LED UV lamp featuring 4 powerful UV-A (365nm) LEDs, plus a convenient white light LED to quickly switch between fluorescent inspection and flaw location. Designed for NDT applications to aid the visual inspection and identification of cracks, inclusions and surface defects, the Opus lamp is also extremely useful in identifying effective rinsing during the NDT inspection rinse process.

The LEDs generate a UV light with a wavelength between 365 to 370nm and peak radiation at approximately 365nm. This corresponds to UV radiation in the so-called UV-A range. A unique mechanical cooling system keeps LEDs cool to maintain optimum light output during extended use.

The standard model OPUS-S is compliant with ASTM E2297, E3022, E1444, E1417 and ISO 3059.

The aerospace model, OPUS-A, is also compliant with Rolls Royce RRES 90061 and Airbus AITM6-1001.

Iris

iris9000 plusThe Iris series of portable LED UV inspection lamps feature 3 powerful UV-A (365 nm) LEDs, plus a convenient white light LED to switch between fluorescent inspection and flaw location quickly. The smooth, large beam of this hand-held UV lamp makes it a useful tool whether in the field or on a bench. All lamps are equipped with black light filters.

The Iris models have adjustable light intensity, temperature monitoring, a laser pointer function, and are housed in a rugged enclosure, powered by either mains or battery. A 100% solid state circuit ensures working properly in strong magnetic field.

The standard model IRIS-S is compliant with ASTM E2297, E3022, E1444, E1417 and ISO 3059. The aerospace model, IRIS 4500, is compliant with those above plus Rolls Royce RRES 90061 and Airbus AITM6-1001.

Spirit

The Spirit series of UV lamps are compact and lightweight, with explosion proof certification (CE, RoHS, Ex). They offer a very narrow spectra, with a peak wavelength of 365nm, featuring four powerful UV-A (365 nm) LEDs, a convenient white light LED, providing a broad and even beam light source.

Spirit can provide a large coverage area of up to 160 mm, with a minimum UV-A intensity of 1200 μW/cm2. All lamps are equipped with black light filters.

Models in the Spirit range are compliant with ASTM E2297, E3022, E1444, E1417 and ISO 3059.

ST-30: 2 UV LEDs and 1 white light LED. Each UV LED is covered with a black light filter. There are battery and mains versions available.

The ST-30 is Rolls Royce RRES 90061 and Airbus AITM6 - 1001 approved.

ST-30BEX: is the certified explosion proof battery version of the Spirit.

Lumazon

lumazonThe Lumazon is a hand-held dual LED UV and White Light Inspection Lamp for Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Inspection. Lightweight and compact the Lumazon easily switches between ultraviolet and white light.

LED technology extends the operating lifetime and enhances the light output. Efficiency gains are made due to instantaneous operation, no warm up time is required and financial savings are made from not needing frequent and expensive replacement bulbs.

Two switches and a trigger are used to operate the Lumazon. The trigger acts as the on / off switch and adjacent to this is a ‘hold’ switch used to maintain UV or white light output continuously. The second switch selects UV or White Light output.

The Lumazon-RR meets the ASTM E3022 Rolls Royce RRES 90061 specification.

Apollo (365L/365XL)

Apollo 365L overhead panel utilizes the state-of-art LED technology and makes it a great tool for fluorescent MT, PT and leak detection.

Constructed from aviation grade aluminium alloy, Apollo 365 series LED UV panel is a rugged unit and will endure the harshest working conditions; with excellent cooling ability and is dust-proof. A waterproof protective case can also be added to the system.

The unique feature of Apollo 365 series LED UV panel is its module-based design. Each LED of Apollo 365 is encapsulated as an independent unit and are interchangeable, between “flood” and “spot” for example, so you can create your preferred overhead light configuration with the desired UV intensity and coverage area.

The standard Apollo 365L is 400m long and consists of 8 UV LEDs and 2 white LEDs, which ensures high UV intensity and large coverage. The Apollo 365XL is 610mm long and carries 16 high performance UV LEDs and 4 white LEDs, which ensures high UV intensity and large coverage.

Inspection Torches - LumaTorch 2

The LumaTorch 2 utilizes the state-of-art LED technology, making it a great tool for fluorescent MT, PT and leak detection.

Made of aviation grade aluminium alloy, the key highlights of this models is it’s excellent cooling ability, robustness and it’s lightweight, ergonomic design.

The LumaTorch 2 has two different beam modes including spotlight and floodlight versions, all equipped with black light filter. The spotlight version makes it possible to conduct inspections in daylight.

Light reflectors are interchangeable for flood vs spot operation in the Torch 365 kit.

INSPECTION YOKE

MY 2 YOKE. HAND HELD INSPECTION YOKE

The MY-2 is the smallest and lightest electromagnetic yoke currently available. It is encapsulated in a rugged housing that makes it extremely durable.

The MY-2 is a handheld unit featuring powerful AC magnetising, adjustable poles, and one handed operation. Its small size makes the MY-2 ideal for inspectiong different geometries, welds, castings and on site inspections, especially where there is limited access.

The MY-2 is supplied with a four metre long detachable cable. The use of a detachable cable and the availability of replacements means no “down time” for the MY-2 and a longer product life.
