Questions about ASNT 9712? Learn More on Chat NDT with ASNT
On this month’s episode of Chat NDT with ASNT, host Debbie Segor, CAE, spoke with Paul Lang and Rali Petrova about ASNT’s newest certification program, ASNT 9712. Paul Lang is the Director of Global Certification & Accreditation at ASNT, as well as the Executive Director of ASNT Certification Services LLC. Rali Petrova is the ASNT Deputy Director of Certification.

ASNT 9712 was introduced to the Society in the January 2023 issue of Materials Evaluation by ASNT Executive Director Neal J. Couture, CAE:

“This is an important milestone for the Society. The ASNT 9712 program will be the centerpiece for ASNT’s international growth and influence, beginning with India, where the program will be offered through ASNT India Private Ltd. in Chennai once the company opens its doors in January. Expansions to other regions of the globe are being planned for 2023 and beyond. The ASNT 9712 program specifically implements the ASNT Strategic Plan for 2022–2026, including Pillar 1 to improve and expand the certification program, Pillar 2 to improve the value of membership, and Pillar 5 to expand into new regions.”

In this episode, Debbie, Paul, and Rali cover some common questions that current and prospective ASNT certificate holders may have about the introduction of ASNT 9712, including how it differs from the current ASNT Central Certification Program as well as ASNT NDT Level III certification, the advantages of ASNT 9712 for industry and practitioners, and the process of attaining ASNT 9712. The conversation also touches on future plans for ASNT certification, including an upcoming digital badging service.
