Overview
Founded in 1972, Covington Aircraft Engines is one of the world’s leading aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities specializing in the Pratt & Whitney PT6A turbine, and R-985 and R-1340 radial, engines. We are a Pratt & Whitney Canada certified Distributor and Designated Overhaul Facility (DDOF) and provide world-class engine support to corporate, agricultural, and government aircraft.
In addition to engine maintenance services, we perform engine installations, operate state-of-the-art engine testing facilities, and maintain a complete inventory of engine parts and accessories. We’re centrally located in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in the United States near Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Tulsa International Airport (TUL). We also have the advantage of utilizing Okmulgee Regional Airport (OKM), which is adjacent to our facility.
Covington performs all stages of engine repair and overhaul work in-house. We conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to verify the integrity of critical parts prior to use and use computer-controlled machinery for necessary machining, grinding, and balancing prior to assembly. An on-site Quality Control inspector oversees every step of the overhaul process, and when a rebuild is complete, the engine testing and run-in are performed at our own engine testing facilities to verify the highest quality rebuild possible.
