About Krishnan Nair Sudhesh

I worked on a project creating five CALM buoy-type loading terminals, dealing with FFS and Passport generation as a TWI Consultant Engineer. Then, for a year, I served as an Asset Integrity Management Specialist at Oceaneering India Technology Centre. I also had a 15-year stint as a Freelance Structural Integrity Management Consultant in Abu Dhabi, UAE, specifically with ADNOC SME. My responsibilities included extending the life of over 400 fixed offshore structures and well conductors through advanced NDT projects. Throughout my professional journey, I have actively contributed to the field of engineering with a diverse and enriching background.

As a TWI Consultant Engineer, I played a pivotal role in the creation of five CALM buoy-type loading terminals, demonstrating expertise in Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations and Passport generation. This experience honed my skills in ensuring the integrity and reliability of critical structures. Transitioning to Oceaneering India Technology Centre, I served as an Asset Integrity Management Specialist for a year. Here, I further refined my understanding of structural integrity and its application in the offshore industry, leveraging advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies.

A significant chapter of my career unfolded as a Freelance Structural Integrity Management Consultant in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where I collaborated extensively with ADNOC SME. Over a remarkable 15-year span, my responsibilities encompassed extending the life of more than 400 fixed offshore structures and well conductors through the execution of advanced NDT projects. My professional journey also led me to Dragon Oil Dubai, where I assumed the role of Senior Project Engineer/Manager for a year.

Additionally, my nine-year tenure with NPCC saw me in the capacity of Lead Offshore Structural Engineer. In this role, I spearheaded the timely completion of multi-million Greenfield and Brownfield Projects, showcasing my adept project management skills. On the academic front, I hold a PhD from Queen's University Belfast, UK, where my research delved into the "Influence of Geometry on Breaking Waveloads for a Shoreline Wave Power Station." This academic pursuit provided me with a deep understanding of structural dynamics and its practical implications. Before my industry roles, I dedicated 4.5 years to SERC, Madras, as an FEA software development scientist in structural dynamics. This foundational experience significantly contributed to my analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

In summary, my professional journey reflects a rich tapestry of experiences ranging from hands-on engineering in the offshore sector to academic research and software development. These varied roles have shaped me into a well-rounded professional with a deep appreciation for the complexities of structural integrity and project management. After that, I took on the role of a Senior Project Engineer/Manager at Dragon Oil Dubai for a year. I also spent nine years with NPCC, where I functioned as the Lead Offshore Structural Engineer, overseeing the timely completion of multi-million Greenfield and Brownfield Projects.

Academically, I hold a PhD from Queen's University Belfast, UK, where my thesis focused on the "Influence of Geometry on Breaking Waveloads for a Shoreline Wave Powersattion". Additionally, I have 4.5 years of experience as a FEA software development scientist in structural dynamics at SERC, Madras.
