Course Description:

Advanced Ultrasonic Testing Course Level 2

This advanced course is designed for individuals who already possess Level 2 TOFD and PAUT certification and are seeking to expand their knowledge and skillset in ultrasonic testing. The course will provide comprehensive training on advanced UT applications, equipment parameter fine-tuning, and data acquisition from a variety of thicknesses and states of material degradation.

The course will cover the following topics in detail:

• In-depth training on advanced UT applications
• Fine-tuning of equipment parameters for optimal results
• Data acquisition from a variety of thicknesses and states of material degradation
• Analysis of raw ultrasonic data including TOFD, PAUT, and backscatter data
• Velocity ratio, attenuation, and frequency analysis
• Identification of damage mechanisms of HTHA, ranging from microscopic damage to through-wall cracks
• Characterization of material degradation, including sources of false positives and issues related to material inclusions, stepwise HICC damage, and weld back cladding issues
• Hands-on testing experience and theoretical approach
• Offline data analysis tutorials

The course will help participants develop an advanced understanding of ultrasonic testing and equip them with the skills to effectively carry out testing in real-world situations. The course will be conducted over a period of 5 days, with a focus on both practical and theoretical learning. Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Level 2 Advanced Ultrasonic Testing certification.
