This comprehensive course provides a solid foundation in ultrasonic testing principles. You will learn about the basic principles of sound and the generation and detection of sound, as well as how sound behaves in a material and the function of the flaw detector. You will gain practical experience using angled beam probes for weld scanning, and learn about welding processes and weld defects. Through practical exercises on test specimens containing simulated flaws, you will become proficient in examining parent plates and butt welds and writing clear and concise instructions. By the end of the course, you will have the skills and knowledge needed to confidently perform ultrasonic testing of welded joints.
