Position Summary:
TEAM, Inc. is seeking an experienced Advanced NDT Technician to join their team. The technician will be responsible for independently performing advanced Nondestructive Testing (NDT) inspections, utilizing techniques such as Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Conventional Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), and others. These inspections are conducted to detect corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions following written criteria. The technician will interpret inspection results and communicate these findings to customers, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards, practices, and legal regulations. Ensure others are alerted to potential hazards or concerns.
- Perform assigned duties while upholding TEAM’s Core Values and Seven Critical Choices.
- Supervise apprentices on job sites and assist in their development.
- Maintain advanced NDT certifications and ensure they are up to date.
- Conduct NDT inspections as per certification in various advanced techniques (e.g., Phased Array UT, CR, DR).
- Interpret inspection results and generate accurate, thorough reports as required by company procedures.
- Communicate inspection results, processes, and procedures clearly to customers.
- Travel to various job sites as required, ensuring adaptability to changing environments.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician with expertise in at least one advanced NDT method.
- Level II certification in at least one of the following methods: Phased Array UT (UTPA), Conventional Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), or Eddy Current Testing (ET).
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and other computer applications.
- Strong ability to work with computerized equipment and systems.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively in a busy work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly relay inspection results.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to walk, climb, and maneuver through plant environments, including the ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Sufficient vision and manual dexterity to perform inspections and routine office duties.
- Ability to work with safety equipment as required for personal protection.
Work Conditions:
- The position is based out of a branch or site location.
- Field duties will require both indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere, including exposure to extreme noise levels and production machinery.
- Interaction with other crew members, supervisors, and client personnel will be part of daily activities.
- Travel may be required, with multiple job sites visited in a single day. Employees must be able to tolerate climate changes and varying work environments.
