Advanced UT Technician ISQ Qualified

Position Summary:

Acuren is seeking an Advanced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Technician with ISQ qualifications to support operations in Borger, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting specialized inspections using nondestructive testing (NDT) methods, including setting up and calibrating testing equipment, ensuring quality control, and reporting results. The Advanced UT Technician will adhere to strict safety regulations and apply testing criteria to evaluate results in accordance with applicable specifications and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Conduct tests to detect discontinuities (defects) and ensure quality, using advanced NDT methods.
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations.
• Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications and standards, and evaluate test results.
• Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators.
• Organize and report test results clearly and accurately.
• Perform specialized inspections as required.
• Instruct and supervise others, as needed, in proper NDT methods and procedures.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred.
• ISQ Qualified with certification in advanced UT methods.
• Certified Level II in RT, MT, PT, UTT, and CR.
• 40 Hour Radiation Safety Certification is a plus.
• Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks effectively and interpret results of inspections.
• Knowledge of NDT equipment and proficiency in their use.
• Experience in report writing and documentation.
