Position Summary:

The NDT Technician Apprentice at TEAM, Inc. plays a critical role in supporting field personnel in various activities on client sites. The position is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in the non-destructive testing (NDT) field, offering hands-on experience and an opportunity for career growth. The Technician Apprentice will assist in maintaining safety standards, assisting in repairs, and providing customer support during on-site assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards, legal regulations, and notifying others about potential hazards.
  • Perform all assigned duties in accordance with TEAM’s core values.
  • Assist Technicians, Senior Technicians, and Operations teams with various field service responsibilities on client locations.
  • Provide support during site assignments, contributing to installation, repair, maintenance, and evaluation tasks.
  • Observe field personnel to assist in diagnosing errors or problems and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Aid in documenting all field service activities, ensuring accurate records.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience of at least one year in an industrial or plant environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to travel periodically for out-of-town assignments as required.
  • Field duties will require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere, including exposure to extreme noise levels.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by safety regulations for personal protection.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Capable of walking, climbing, and performing other physical tasks as required during field operations.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to speak and hear effectively or with reasonable accommodations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to perform office tasks and field activities.
  • Adequate physical reflexes and personal mobility to navigate a refinery or plant environment, including using ladders and stairwells to access elevated platforms.

Work Conditions:

  • Position is based out of a branch or site location.
  • Interaction with crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel will be part of daily activities.
  • Will be required to work in a plant environment, with significant exposure to production machinery and extreme noise levels.
  • Multiple job sites may be visited within a single day, with potential climate changes during travel.
