Certified Welding Inspector

Position Summary:

The NDT Advanced Services Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) at TEAM, Inc. is responsible for conducting visual inspections of welded products and structures to ensure they meet specified standards and codes. This role is crucial for maintaining quality and safety in NDT services, requiring a thorough understanding of welding processes and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards, legal regulations, and alerting others to potential hazards.
• Performs assigned duties in alignment with TEAM’s Core Values.
• Conducts internal and external inspections to verify that welded products and structures meet acceptance criteria outlined in specific codes, standards, or documents.
• Accurately interprets regulations, codes, and industry standards.
• Ensures work is implemented according to project specifications.
• Compiles and submits completed inspection reports in a timely manner.
• Completes Inspection, Test Plans, and status reports.
• Reviews surveillance documents for any issues.
• Schedules and conducts Pre-Inspection Meetings.
• Communicates regularly with customers regarding scheduling activities as specified by the customer.
• Plans travel and surveillance visits to optimize time and minimize expenses.
• Maintains the Inspection Folder.

Requirements:

• Ability to pass a Vision Test.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Ability to walk and climb, except when performing non-field duties.
• Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
• Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Travel Requirements: 0% - 50%.
• Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required.
• May be at multiple job sites in a day and must tolerate climate changes.
• May be required to travel out of town periodically.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous industry-related inspection experience (preferred).
• SCWI, CWI, or CAWI certification (required).
