Certified Welding Inspector

Position Summary:

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with expertise in NDT Level II and AMPP/NACE Level II certifications to oversee quality assurance at a fabrication facility in Williamsport, PA. The inspector will be responsible for ensuring compliance with client requirements and project standards during the construction phase, maintaining strong communication with stakeholders, and producing detailed inspection reports. This role demands proficiency in American Welding Society (AWS) codes and previous experience in a similar position, alongside the ability to work remotely while managing multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Project Manager to define work order requirements, including scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
• Communicate with fabrication shops, contractors, and third parties to address and resolve scheduling issues.
• Ensure services comply with project requirements and client contracts.
• Prepare and submit timesheets, billing reports, and detailed inspection reports in Microsoft Word/Adobe Acrobat, adhering to deadlines.
• Relay information about upcoming assignments and potential opportunities to Bureau Veritas from the fabrication facility.
• Foster positive relationships between Bureau Veritas, the client, and the fabrication facility.
• Interpret complex design and fabrication plans and specifications, ensuring quality assurance and control.
• Utilize modern communication and computer equipment, including cell phones, laptops, and digital cameras, for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Execute multiple assignments simultaneously without compromising quality or efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (American Welding Society) is required.
• NDT Level II certification is required.
• AMPP/NACE Level II certification is required.
• Proven experience in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of AWS codes.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Lotus Notes preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills for technical issue reporting.
• Ability to work independently and remotely, coordinating with clients and internal teams.
• Detail-oriented with expertise in quality control processes and fabrication inspection.
• Team player with a client-focused approach and the ability to foster professional relationships.
