Corrosion Engineer

Position Summary:

Aramco is seeking an experienced Corrosion Engineer to join the Riyas Engineering Division, part of the NGL Fractionation Department (RNGLFD). This critical role involves implementing and improving corrosion management programs, providing expert advice on materials selection and corrosion mitigation strategies, and ensuring the integrity of assets throughout their lifecycle. The position is based in Saudi Arabia and offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class projects.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and enhance corrosion management programs and on-stream monitoring.
• Conduct Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) using API-580 methodology and company standards.
• Review and recommend solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection systems.
• Participate in HAZOP review sessions to ensure corrosion issues are addressed.
• Manage water treatment programs and develop solutions for corrosion challenges.
• Validate materials selection, corrosion loops, and damage mechanisms.
• Assess feed composition changes to ensure asset integrity.
• Develop and implement advanced material applications to address plant corrosion challenges.
• Conduct special studies on corrosion control and evaluate cost-effectiveness for projects.
• Perform regular reviews and updates to the plant’s Corrosion Control Documents (CCD).
• Provide technical training and share knowledge with engineers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, materials science, metallurgy, and NDT technologies.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and codes, including NACE, ASME, API, and ASTM.
• Expertise in API-571, API-579, API-580, API-570, and API-510 standards.
• Valid certifications such as NACE Specialist Certification, NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist, or a combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571, and NACE CP Level II.
• Demonstrated ability to manage asset integrity programs and troubleshoot corrosion issues.
• Exceptional presentation skills to communicate technical knowledge effectively.

• Extensive experience in corrosion management, material selection, and asset integrity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to approach asset integrity holistically.
• Familiarity with welding engineering and its role in material performance.
• Proficiency in developing and optimizing inspection and corrosion programs.
