Position Summary:
Acuren Inspection is seeking motivated Entry Level NDT Assistants to support their New Castle, DE operations and surrounding areas. This role requires extensive travel (up to 75%) across various industrial environments, including fabrication shops, petrochemical plants, chemical plants, pulp & paper facilities, gas plants, refineries, pipelines, and pharmaceutical sites.
As an NDT Assistant, you will work closely with experienced Nondestructive Testing (NDT) professionals, assisting in equipment setup, calibration, and conducting inspections to assess structural integrity. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Nondestructive Test (NDT) equipment
- Assist Radiographers with NDT equipment calibration
- Support Radiographers in conducting tests to detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods
- Record and document inspection results
- Assist in performing NDT procedures, handling equipment, and other field operations
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
- Technical background is desirable
- Willingness and physical ability to obtain Rope Access Level I certification
- Must meet Trustworthy & Reliable certification requirements as per federal and state regulations (subject to a thorough background check)
- Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record that meets company standards to operate company vehicles
- Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening and background checks as required by clients
