Inspection Engineer (Wind Projects)

Position Summary:

TUV SUD South Asia is looking for an experienced Inspection Engineer to join its Wind Projects team in Vadodara. The Inspection Engineer will be responsible for performing and reviewing quality inspections, testing, and documentation for Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) components, specifically Hubs and Nacelles. The role will ensure compliance with approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and customer requirements, supporting the successful delivery of wind energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review incoming inspection documents for Hub and Nacelle components, ensuring compliance with approved QAPs.
• Conduct in-process inspections and document reviews of Hubs and Nacelles, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Witness Factory Routine Testing and review related documentation for Hub and Nacelle components.
• Monitor and oversee quality control processes, including IQC, IPQC, equipment calibration, data, and records management.
• Perform final inspections and document reviews of Hubs and Nacelles, ensuring they meet the specified QAP.
• Witness final factory testing of WTG components and review the relevant documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers to address and close inspection-related observations.
• Monitor the daily availability of raw materials, manufacturing status, and process control.
• Verify compliance of manufacturer quality records/log sheets with QPs, GTPs, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct factory inspections of equipment/materials, ensuring they align with customer-approved documentation.
• Perform supplier quality inspections for power substations, transmission lines, solar power projects, and renewable energy plants.
• Expedite and inspect blade balancing and conduct the final inspection of Nacelle and Hub components.
• Make pass/fail decisions on material/equipment during factory inspections.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering/Technology.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Supplier Quality Inspections.
• Strong knowledge of wind power, wind projects, and renewable energy systems.

Technical & Business Competencies:

• Proficiency with QAPs, MQPs, GTPs, and engineering drawings.
• Expertise in inspection techniques, quality documentation, and equipment testing.
• Ability to identify and resolve non-conformities in manufacturing and supplier processes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to effectively work with suppliers and teams.
