Position Summary:
NVI, LLC, a leading Louisiana-based nondestructive testing service provider, is seeking a motivated and experienced Level II Computed Radiographer (CR) to join its dynamic team in the Tuscaloosa area. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various Nondestructive Testing (NDT) inspections, with a primary focus on Computed Radiography (CR). Responsibilities:
- Perform Level II Computed Radiography (CR) inspections and other NDE inspections as specified in the company's procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate Computed Radiography equipment, software, and hardware per company and manufacturer requirements.
- Ensure testing criteria are applied in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results effectively.
- Establish and control radiation areas as required, while ensuring safe working conditions.
- Analyze and interpret inspection results to meet the relevant code of construction or customer specifications.
- Organize, report, and maintain detailed test results, ensuring high-quality radiographs are produced.
- Manage project timelines and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
- Provide daily communication with customer/client representatives.
- Implement and follow safety procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Train assistants in line with applicable codes, regulations, procedures, and NVI’s SNT-TC-1A written practice.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while on projects.
- Handle any other responsibilities as necessary to meet Level II duties as outlined by the company.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Current Level II Computed Radiography certification.
- Valid State Radiographers card or IRRSP card.
- A minimum of 80 hours of documented Radiography Level I and II training.
- A minimum of 40 hours of documented Computed Radiography training.
- 16 hours of documented CR Software/Hardware training (preferably GE/Waygate or VMI).
- Knowledge of applicable welding codes such as ASME, API, AWS, etc.
- A list of projects managed as a Level II Computed Radiographer.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to pass Motor Vehicle History Evaluations.
- Ability to pass the FBI background verification and adhere to the company's Increased Controls program.
- Compliance with the company’s Drug/Alcohol, Fit for Duty, and Ergonomic Testing policies/procedures.
- Ability to pass the company’s Level II Computed Radiography certification process.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- ANST/ACCP Level II certifications in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT), or documented field hours and classroom education that meets or exceeds SNT-TC-1A certification requirements for these methods.
- Ability to pass the company's certification processes for MT, PT, and UTT.
