Position Summary:

The Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDE) Technician is responsible for independently performing inspections using various NDT techniques to identify corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions in accordance with specific written criteria. The technician will conduct inspections, interpret findings, and report results per company requirements while effectively communicating processes, procedures, and results to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards and legal regulations.
  • Alert others regarding potential hazards or concerns.
  • Perform all assigned duties while upholding TEAM’s Core Values and Seven Critical Choices.
  • Assist the Senior Technician and instruct apprentice-level personnel on the job.
  • Study to gain NDT certifications while acquiring hands-on experience in various NDT methods.
  • Perform any duties assigned by the Senior Technician on-site.
  • Supervise apprentice-level personnel as needed.
  • Maintain NDT certification and perform inspections accordingly.
  • Interpret and report inspection results while maintaining documentation of activities.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of basic math.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work with computers and computerized equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading, understanding, and communicating in English.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least two methods.
  • Previous Level II certification in a minimum of one method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred.
  • Travel requirement: 0-75%.
  • Ability to handle chemicals safely.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.

Work Conditions:

  • Position is based out of a branch or site location.
  • Requires indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
  • Work in plant and shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Must wear required safety equipment for personal protection.
  • Must be able to tolerate climate changes and work at multiple job sites in a single day.
  • May require periodic out-of-town travel.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties.
  • Clear speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient vision or other observation abilities, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform inspections.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform routine office tasks.
  • Personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to travel and perform duties.
  • Ability to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment, including access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Ability to maintain focus and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Anticipated salary: $62,000.00–$83,000.00 per year plus benefits.
