Level II NDT Technician

Position Summary:

The Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician at TEAM Industrial Services, Inc. will perform inspections using various NDT techniques to identify corrosion, defects, or other harmful conditions in accordance with specific written criteria. The technician will independently conduct inspections, interpret the results, and report findings following company standards. This role involves regular communication with customers to explain procedures, processes, and outcomes. Additionally, the technician will provide mentorship to apprentice-level personnel and assist senior technicians with their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and secure working environment by adhering to safety standards, legal regulations, and company/customer safety practices.
• Conduct NDT inspections, including the interpretation and reporting of results. Document all activities and ensure accuracy in inspection results.
• Assist the Senior Technician with on-the-job training and guidance for apprentice technicians, providing leadership as needed.
• Continuously study and gain certifications in NDT techniques while actively performing hands-on inspections in various NDT methods.
• Perform NDT inspections in plant environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings, and around production machinery.
• Effectively communicate inspection processes and results to customers in a clear and professional manner.
• The position may require travel up to 75% for field duties, including traveling to multiple job sites in a day and potentially out-of-town assignments.

Requirements:

• Ability to handle chemicals safely and follow prescribed procedures.
• Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including noisy, industrial areas with production machinery.
• Comfortable with traveling for work and tolerating varying climate conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, walk, and climb ladders or stairs as needed.
• Ability to wear safety equipment and personal protective gear as required by the safety department.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in NDT, with certification in at least two methods (e.g., PT, MT, UT, RT, ET).
• Current Level II certification in at least one NDT method preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and comfortable with computerized equipment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and physical mobility, including climbing elevated platforms and maneuvering within plant environments.
• Ability to focus, multitask, and manage multiple assignments efficiently.
