Position Summary:

Acuren is recruiting for a Level II NDT Technician to join its traveling Pipeline Integrity division. This remote position will require 100% travel, primarily in the California region. The technician will be responsible for setting up, calibrating, and performing nondestructive testing (NDT) to ensure quality and detect defects in pipeline integrity assessments. This role involves working with various NDT methods, interpreting results, and reporting findings in accordance with company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment for pipeline inspections.
  • Conduct tests using NDT methods to detect discontinuities (defects) and ensure quality.
  • Establish appropriate examination techniques for pipeline objects, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
  • Apply testing criteria according to applicable specifications and standards, and evaluate the results.
  • Interpret radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters, and visual indicators.
  • Organize and report the results of tests accurately and clearly.
  • Perform specialized inspections as required for pipeline integrity assessments.
  • May instruct and supervise other NDT technicians or trainees as needed.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
  • 100% travel, primarily through the California region, to support pipeline inspection projects.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college education preferred.
  • Certified Level II NDT Technician (specific to the pipeline industry).
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures, with experience in conducting pipeline inspections.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks effectively and interpret inspection results accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of NDT equipment and testing methods.
  • Experience in writing detailed inspection reports.
