Level 2 NDT X-ray Technician

Position Summary:

North Star Imaging (NSI) is seeking a skilled Level 2 X-Ray Technician with expertise in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and industry-leading companies in aerospace, manufacturing, oil and gas, medicine, and academia. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate with clients to deliver world-class imaging and analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Work with leading companies to capture internal and external geometry of products using advanced mini-focus, microfocus, and MeV Digital X-ray and CT (3D) imaging systems.
• Assist clients with failure analysis, product development, R&D, and production projects by utilizing digital radiography and computed tomography equipment.
• Create and refine DR and CT imaging techniques for customer-supplied products.
• Provide direct oversight and approval of trainee and Level 1 OJT and technique approvals.
• Develop innovative fixturing methods to enhance the efficiency of the digital X-ray imaging and CT processes.
• Deliver comprehensive reports, conduct professional presentations, and engage with clients and potential clients to address their needs and showcase solutions.
• Partner with the sales team to quote projects and propose scanning solutions tailored to customer requirements.
• Represent NSI’s imaging capabilities at industry events and trade shows, presenting to large groups of peers.
• Travel up to 15% to customer sites, company locations, and trade shows.

Requirements:

• DR and CT Level 2 Certification (or equivalent training).
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in microfocus imaging and 3 years of overall NDT experience.
• Proficiency in the VG Software Suite for seamless operation and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of X-ray principles and industry standards.
• US Citizenship is required.
