Position Summary:

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time Level II RT Technician to join their team in York, PA. The Level II RT Technician will be responsible for conducting radiographic testing (RT) on-site at various client locations. This individual will operate and calibrate NDT equipment, interpret test results, and ensure adherence to industry standards while maintaining high levels of safety and efficiency. The position requires an experienced NDT professional with the ability to work independently and guide lower-level technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment for radiographic testing.
  • Conduct tests using appropriate NDT techniques, specifically RT.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results and document findings in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Be familiar with the scope and limitations of the RT method and manage the work of trainees and Level I technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and contractual requirements related to RT testing.
  • Work with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Resolve issues and analyze information to determine solutions effectively and efficiently.
  • Present numerical data clearly and accurately when necessary.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and professionalism in all aspects of the job.
  • Travel to multiple job sites as needed, with the ability to adapt to different work environments and climates.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A standards for one or more of the following: UT, RT, MT, or PT.
  • Certification as an NDE Level II technician with at least one year of experience or certification as an NDE Level I technician with the required field experience to qualify for Level II certification.
  • Industrial Radiographers Certification Card preferred (required for all hired as a Radiographer).
  • Completion of a 40-hour Radiation Safety Course is preferred (required for all hired as a Radiographer).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently for radiography work.
  • Ability to work in a plant environment with extreme noise levels and under various physical conditions.
  • Willingness to travel out of town as required.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.

  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in all situations, and to edit and present numerical data.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact with team members, clients, and supervisors.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently, adapt to changes in the work environment, and handle unexpected events.
  • Consistently arrives to work on time, follows instructions, and seeks feedback for improvement.
  • Actively promotes safety procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Work Conditions:

  • Field duties involve outdoor work in plant and industrial environments.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and clients is expected.
  • Work will involve exposure to production machinery and extreme noise levels.
  • Ability to tolerate climate changes and adapt to different work environments as necessary.
  • Occasional travel out of town may be required.
