Position Summary:

TEAM Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to perform inspections utilizing a variety of NDT techniques to detect corrosion, defects, and other detrimental conditions in accordance with specific written criteria. The technician will interpret inspection results, report findings as per company requirements, and effectively communicate processes, procedures, and results to clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated technician to work independently while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following company/customer safety standards, legal regulations, and alerting others to potential hazards.
  • Perform NDT inspections for which certified and ensure adherence to company policies and industry standards.
  • Assist senior technicians and instruct apprentice-level personnel on job sites.
  • Continuously study to gain NDT certifications while gaining hands-on experience in a variety of NDT methods.
  • Report the results of inspections and maintain accurate documentation of inspection activities.
  • Perform supervisory activities over apprentice-level personnel as required, ensuring compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by senior technicians, including task management and follow-up.
  • Maintain NDT certification and ensure it is up-to-date.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics and proficiency in Microsoft Word and other computer-based equipment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least two NDT methods.
  • Level II certification in at least one NDT method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Ability to handle chemicals safely and follow detailed instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

Work Conditions:

  • Position based out of a branch or site location.
  • Field duties involve both indoor and outdoor work in plant environments, potentially working around high noise levels and machinery.
  • Must be capable of wearing required safety equipment as mandated by the safety department.
  • May need to travel to multiple job sites during the day and adapt to varying climate conditions.
  • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, climb, and perform tasks in various physical environments, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders or stairwells.
  • Clear speech and hearing capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation to conduct investigations and interpret results.
  • Manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation to perform routine office duties.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively in a demanding environment.
