Position Summary:

TEAM Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Inspection Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various inspection tasks to maintain the mechanical integrity of fixed equipment at industrial job sites. This role involves conducting internal and external inspections, writing detailed reports, and working in challenging environments such as confined spaces and high elevations. The position requires the technician to travel between job sites and communicate effectively with both customers and team members. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional integrity is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to company/customer safety standards, practices, and legal regulations; report potential hazards or concerns.
  • Perform all assigned duties and adhere to TEAM’s Core Values and Seven Critical Choices.
  • Conduct internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to ensure mechanical integrity.
  • Recommend and approve repairs, as well as perform visual inspections of completed repair work.
  • Perform inspection work in confined spaces while wearing full containment suits and facial masks.
  • Understand containment and coatings work plan development in line with specifications and prevailing standards.
  • Utilize film thickness gauges and surface micron meters to conduct inspections.
  • Assist in scheduling inspection-related activities.
  • Write detailed inspection and turnaround reports, ensuring thorough documentation of all inspection activities.
  • Identify circumstances requiring the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Communicate and interact with customers and other parties in a professional manner, enhancing the company’s reputation.
  • Complete all required training and tests within company guidelines.
  • File customer and company job-related forms and paperwork as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school or related training preferred.
  • Previous industry-related experience preferred.
  • Valid NACE certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to travel 0% to 75%.
  • Ability to work effectively with other crew members, supervisors, and client personnel in plant environments.
  • Ability to work in environments with extreme noise levels, near production machinery.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment for personal protection.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple job sites within a day and tolerate climate changes.
  • Capability to climb and work at high elevations and in confined spaces.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and climb as required, except when performing non-field duties.
  • Sufficient communication skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Adequate vision and observation skills to perform inspections effectively.
  • Manual dexterity to perform office duties and routine tasks.
  • Ability to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Strong focus, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication skills.
