Position Summary:

The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician will independently conduct inspections using advanced NDT techniques, including Phased Array UT, CR, and DR, to detect corrosion, defects, or other detrimental conditions in accordance with established written criteria. The Technician will interpret inspection results, report findings per company requirements, and effectively communicate processes, procedures, and results to customers. This role requires maintaining certifications, following safety protocols, and supervising apprentices on the job site.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy working environment by adhering to company/customer safety standards, legal regulations, and alerting others to potential hazards or concerns.
  • Perform all assigned duties while adhering to the company’s Core Values and Seven Critical Choices.
  • Supervise apprentices on job sites, providing guidance and oversight.
  • Maintain advanced NDT certification and perform inspections for which the technician is certified.
  • Conduct NDT inspections, interpret findings, and report results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate NDT processes, procedures, and results effectively to customers.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least one advanced NDT method (Phased Array UT, CR, DR).
  • Certification to Level II in a minimum of one NDT method (UTPA, CR, DR, ET).
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and basic computer systems/equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Travel requirements of 0-75%.

Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including plant atmospheres with production machinery and high noise levels.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, climb, and maneuver within plant environments, including using ladders and stairwells.
  • Strong mental focus and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work under various environmental conditions and travel as required.
