NDE Level I Technician

Position Summary:

Intertek is seeking an NDE Level I Technician for a short-term project at a client facility in the Bellingham, Washington area. The role involves supporting the Industry Services team during a turnaround (TAR) project, working under the direction of a Level II Technician. The position requires hands-on experience in non-destructive examinations and a strong safety mindset. This temporary role spans approximately 2-3 months, beginning on or around March 21, 2025, with training and certification provided at Intertek’s Houston, TX office prior to project commencement.

Responsibilities:

• Perform various non-destructive examinations at client facilities under the guidance of Level II Technicians or supervisors.
• Assist in preparing clear and timely NDE reports and documentation.
• Learn and support the implementation of company NDE procedures and techniques.
• Maintain professionalism when interfacing with clients and colleagues.
• Stay updated on new developments in NDE technologies relevant to the business.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable safety and quality standards.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid TWIC card.
• Ability to pass a physical examination.
• Strong safety-first mindset.
• Effective communication skills for working with co-workers, clients, and subcontractors.

Preferred Requirements:

• Current 40-hour radiation safety certificate.
• ASNT Level I certification in RT (profile), UT-Thickness, MT, and/or PT.
• Proficiency in setting up and calibrating NDE equipment, and interpreting results to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to organize and report test results and send information for data processing.
• Problem-solving skills for addressing technical issues in the field.

• Training phase: $18.00 per hour.
• Project phase: $20.00–$23.00 per hour.
