Position Summary:

TUV Rheinland UK is expanding its Asset Integrity Management team and is seeking experienced NDT Engineers to join its growing division. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality solutions within the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors, primarily focused on CCGT, Biomass, and Energy from Waste plants. The position requires individuals with specific expertise in pressure systems and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of asset integrity for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to perform plant inspections, ensuring safety and compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise inspection activities, including during plant outages, in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Produce detailed, high-quality inspection reports documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Review and authorize inspection reports based on qualifications and experience.
  • Estimate and manage project costs effectively, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, legislation, and best practices in NDT methods, equipment, and software.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and practices during all aspects of work.
  • Travel within the UK and abroad to meet project needs and ensure timely delivery of services.

Requirements:

  • Practical experience in the inspection of a range of plant components, particularly steam and water pressure parts, in both new and in-service conditions.
  • Familiarity with the degradation mechanisms that can affect plant components.
  • Experience in ultrasonic testing, particularly of branch connections, is desirable.
  • Proven track record in coordinating or supervising plant outage inspection activities, liaising with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • PCN Level 2D certification in magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, and ultrasonic testing of welds.
  • Additional certifications are a plus, including:
  • PCN Level 2 in phased array ultrasonic testing and/or TOFD.
  • PCN Level 3 certification in any testing method.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
