Position Summary:
Testia SAS, a global leader in aerostructure integrity and aeronautical non-destructive testing (NDT), is seeking an experienced NDT Ultrasonics Engineer to join their team in Toulouse. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of machine solutions and automation activities, working closely with software and mechanical development teams, as well as industry partners. This role involves defining, testing, and validating NDT solutions, providing expert guidance on control methods for materials and complex configurations, and managing customer projects. The NDT Engineer will also be responsible for commissioning, training, maintenance, and providing technical support for both domestic and international projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct non-destructive investigations of new materials, processes, and structures, ensuring they meet acceptance criteria and industrial constraints.
- Define turnkey solutions based on customer needs, ensuring that solutions align with project requirements.
- Evaluate the cost and delivery time of proposed solutions to ensure efficiency and feasibility.
- Draft technical offers, specifications, and project monitoring documents.
- Manage suppliers, conduct elementary testing, assembly, development, and validation in collaboration with partners.
- Oversee commissioning at customer sites, providing training, maintenance, and technical support both domestically and internationally.
- Write detailed test reports, manuals, and presentations to document processes and findings.
- Conduct technological monitoring and evaluate new technologies to enhance service offerings and product solutions.
Requirements:
- A technical background with at least 5 years of industrial experience in NDT, specifically in ultrasonics.
- Knowledge of additional NDT methods, such as IR thermography or eddy currents, is highly desirable.
- Experience in inspecting metal and composite parts.
- Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess client technical needs and generate effective proposals.
- Proactive, dynamic, autonomous, and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Strong team spirit and excellent customer relations skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally or for extended periods, depending on project requirements (permit required).
- Motivated to grow within an innovative and expanding company with international reach.
Qualifications:
- Engineer or equivalent technical degree with significant experience in NDT, particularly in ultrasonics.
- Experience with other NDT methods is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and interact effectively with customers and suppliers.
