Position Summary:
Ashtead Technology is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join their Survey and Robotics division as an NDT External Sales Engineer. This role is a blend of Sales, Client Relationship Management, and Strategic Planning, and offers diverse, day-to-day responsibilities. The NDT External Sales Engineer will be instrumental in driving business development and growth by increasing market share, enhancing customer penetration, and developing strong relationships with current and prospective clients in the offshore energy sector.
Responsibilities:
- Increase market share and revenue by securing new business and driving repeat sales from existing clients.
- Ensure excellent client service by managing sales activities and ensuring long-term business relationships with clients. Take action based on client debtor status prior to interactions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both current and prospective clients. Represent Ashtead Technology by actively networking, attending client meetings, industry events, and organizing client entertainment.
- Monitor the market, clients, suppliers, and competitors to gather insights that will inform business decisions and strategies.
- Provide valuable market and client intelligence feedback to influence bid strategies and pricing, ensuring Ashtead Technology remains competitive and profitable.
- Maintain daily client contact reports (CCRs) and update the CRM system to keep track of client interactions and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with commonly used NDT and RVI methods and techniques.
- Previous experience in the NDT industry in a commercial or customer-facing role.
- Technical and commercial knowledge of the offshore energy equipment rental and service industry.
- Strong understanding of key account management principles.
- Ability to manage workload and meet objectives in a collaborative but demanding environment.
Qualification:
- Proven experience in sales and client relationship management within the offshore energy or subsea equipment rental sector.
- Strong understanding of NDT techniques and the offshore energy industry.
- Ability to drive sales, enhance client relationships, and influence pricing and strategy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to network and build relationships with clients.
