Position Summary:

TesTex, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician Assistant to support NDT operations in the power generation, refining, and petrochemical industries. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in NDT, providing comprehensive training and hands-on experience in a variety of advanced inspection techniques, including electromagnetic (ET) and ultrasonic testing (UT). The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, highly reliable, and able to work in diverse and physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist NDT technicians in performing inspections using various techniques, including proprietary electromagnetic testing (ET), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT) in power generation, refining, and petrochemical settings.
  • Support the preparation of surfaces and equipment for testing to meet client and industry standards.
  • Help maintain accurate records and documentation of inspection results.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, especially in hazardous environments such as confined spaces or working at heights.
  • Assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of NDT equipment to guarantee accurate and reliable testing.
  • Safely transport equipment and materials to job sites in various industries.
  • Learn and develop knowledge of industry-specific NDT methods and stay informed of emerging technologies and standards.
  • Collaborate with technicians in reviewing test data and supporting report generation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Interest in working in technical and industrial fields, especially in power generation, refining, and petrochemical industries (prior experience is an advantage but not required).
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and data entry).
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, with a strong focus on safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and pursue NDT certification (training will be provided).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and industrial tools used in power generation, refining, or petrochemical plants.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures in high-risk environments.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
