Position Summary:
Bureau Veritas Group is seeking a skilled NDT Inspector to join their team and report to the deputy manager of operations. The NDT Inspector will be responsible for performing quality inspections, including equipment, products, and safety assessments, to ensure conformity with relevant standards, specifications, and regulations. This role includes hands-on experience in AutoCAD sketching, performing NDT methods such as MPI, UTG, and DPT, and ensuring all work is executed in line with the BV Quality Assurance System, Code of Ethics, and BV Group policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the operations manager to plan the scope of work after the award of the purchase order (PO).
- Complete inspections as per the scope of work and ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines.
- Produce accurate isometric and raw sketches on AutoCAD, in accordance with client and API Inspector requirements.
- Perform NDT inspections using methods such as Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Ultrasonic Testing (UTG), and Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT).
- Ensure all sketches and inspection results are submitted to clients on time.
- Adhere to Bureau Veritas (BV) Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies for both self and team.
- Provide daily progress updates to the client as required.
- Maintain strong organizational and record-keeping practices.
- Exhibit discipline and build strong interpersonal relationships with team members and clients.
- Demonstrate basic marketing skills to promote services where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or HNC (Higher National Certificate).
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience in the NDT field, particularly in a similar role.
- Professional Qualifications: AutoCAD course certification is required.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for producing detailed isometric and raw sketches.
- Hands-on experience with NDT methods, including MPI, UTG, and DPT.
- Ability to understand and apply API Inspector and client-specific requirements for sketches and inspections.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep accurate records.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English; local language skills are desirable.
- Knowledge and adherence to HSE policies and practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
