Position Summary:
Bureau Veritas Group is seeking an experienced NDT Inspector to join their team in Stord, Norway. This role involves working as part of a quality control team on the EA3 Offshore Wind Farm Project. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to ensure compliance with high industry standards, providing technical solutions and witnessing critical inspections. This is a resident-based, full-time position requiring Norwegian right to work.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Client Representative or Contractor to oversee quality control of the Offshore Substation.
- Conduct and participate in NDT activities such as Radiography, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, and Ultrasonic Testing.
- Develop and apply technical solutions using non-destructive evaluation processes and interpret results.
- Witness and perform internal and external surveillances of testing and supplier facilities.
- Review design documents, including drawings, specifications, test plans/procedures, and work instructions, to verify acceptance requirements.
- Attend inspections according to the agreed Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), including incoming goods inspection, fit-up inspections, black inspections, and dimensional control checks.
- Review manufacturing documentation, including weld records, welding traceability, and NDT reports.
- Ensure compliance with DNV/NORSOK regulations, codes, standards, and inspection qualification requirements.
- Maintain good working knowledge of UK inspection requirements within the Renewable Energy sector or similar high-hazard industries.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience with a strong understanding of NDT processes in Oil & Gas, power generation, or related industries.
- Proven expertise in Radiography, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, and Ultrasonic Testing.
- Experience with DNV/NORSOK regulations, codes, and standards.
- Familiarity with renewable energy inspection requirements or transferable experience from another high-hazard industry.
- Ability to attend inspections and perform cross-checks using inspection instruments.
- Health and Safety qualifications as required.
Qualifications:
- Current professional qualifications in NDT, including MPI, DPI, Radiographic Interpretation, and UT.
- Professional standard of written and spoken English.
- Strong understanding of Project Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Extensive experience in the manufacture and testing of mechanical equipment.
- Ability to review manufacturing records and drawings effectively.
