Position Summary:
The NDT Inspector will be responsible for performing quality inspections to ensure equipment, products, and safety inspections conform to industry standards, specifications, and regulations. This position involves conducting inspections in the fields of welding, NDT, tubular inspection, and other industrial applications, while overseeing a team and ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols. The NDT Inspector will work in alignment with Bureau Veritas (BV) Quality Assurance Systems and policies, ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and supervise quality inspections, particularly in welding, NDT, and tubular inspections, ensuring conformance with industry standards and regulations.
- Lead and train inspection teams, ensuring high performance, quality job execution, and adherence to schedules.
- Perform inspections using advanced NDT techniques, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), ToFD (Time-of-Flight Diffraction), PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing), IRIS (Internal Rotary Inspection System), and LRUT (Long Range Ultrasonic Testing).
- Deliver accurate, timely, and error-free inspection reports. Review and ensure the completeness and correctness of reports produced by the team.
- Coordinate with clients on-site, providing technical support, ensuring client expectations are met, and offering solutions as required.
- Facilitate training programs for junior staff, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and certifications. Deliver lectures and training courses to enhance team capabilities.
- Ensure full adherence to BV's Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSSE) policies, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry inspection codes and standards.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance based on KPIs such as skill utilization, client satisfaction, error-free reporting, and team coordination.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in NDT and inspection, preferably in a supervisory or team-leading capacity.
- Proficiency in UT and knowledge of advanced NDT techniques (ToFD, PAUT, IRIS, LRUT).
- Proven ability to lead and manage inspection teams, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional reporting and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with national and international inspection codes, standards, and practices.
- Willingness to pursue additional certifications as required.
- Ability to train and mentor junior staff, with experience in delivering lectures or training courses.
Qualifications:
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- At least 2-5 years of hands-on experience in NDT or related inspections, with experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Certification in UT and familiarity with advanced NDT methods (ToFD, PAUT, IRIS, LRUT) is required. Further certifications in welding inspection or related fields are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Good communication and presentation skills, with a customer-oriented mindset.
