Position Summary:

Bilfinger UK is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer specializing in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to join its growing inspection team at Hinkley Point C. This role focuses on ensuring the technical delivery of NDT activities in compliance with company procedures, supporting both the Technical Authority and Radiation Protection Supervisor. The position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the UK’s nuclear new-build sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct contract reviews and ensure availability of relevant ECS codes for referencing.
  • Act as a focal point for construction partners, ensuring effective transfer of information related to NDT services.
  • Plan, organize, and manage NDT inspection activities, including:
  • Perform site visits to supervise and audit onsite NDT delivery.
  • Manage reporting and lifetime quality record processes.
  • Develop an understanding of customer needs and support strategies to meet those needs.
  • Assist with the development, validation, and implementation of new NDT technologies, techniques, and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-job walk-downs as required and produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Provide administrative support to supervision and proactively identify blockers to delivery, offering potential resolutions.
  • Ensure resources align with the fabrication schedule and produce look-ahead plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site/Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Holds or previously held ISO 9712 Level 2 qualification.
  • Qualified to ISO 9712 Level 2 in at least three NDT methods.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Certificate.
  • Experience in the delivery and application of NDT inspection tools and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, piping isometrics, vessel arrangements, and piping schedules.
  • Excellent knowledge of international standards and legal regulations relevant to NDT techniques.
  • Hands-on experience inspecting new construction welds.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Professional, approachable, and highly organized with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with a commercial awareness.
  • High level of personal authenticity, confidentiality, and integrity.
