Position Summary:
Acuren is currently seeking a highly skilled NDT Specialist/Project Lead to join their operations in Birmingham, AL, and surrounding areas. This position is a callout/travel role and offers an exciting opportunity to advance one’s career in a leadership position, focusing on inspection, safety, and quality within a dynamic operational environment. Reporting to the Division Manager, the Project Lead will be responsible for overseeing on-site field operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and leading a team of Acuren employees at the customer site.
Responsibilities:
- Interface daily with clients to discuss work priorities and progress on projects.
- Assist in project scheduling and work closely with clients to ensure project timelines are met.
- Actively participate in client programs, planning sessions, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with clients to identify and remove obstacles to project success.
- Engage in client safety initiatives and participate in incident investigations as necessary.
- Ensure that employees and site leads are equipped with the proper tools and training to perform their roles effectively.
- Evaluate departments to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, quality, production, and safety.
- Promote feedback from employees to drive continual improvement of the program.
- Lead project safety objectives and ensure they are met.
- Participate in the performance management of site employees.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in NDT or related fields.
- Previous leadership experience is considered an asset.
- Certification or previous certification in NDT methods, with a working knowledge of each method’s strengths and limitations to ensure proper application for project scope.
- Experience in quality control and safety management.
- Familiarity with current codes, standards, and procedures necessary for performing inspections and interpreting results.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients effectively.
- Knowledge of NDT methods and the ability to assess and select the appropriate methods based on project requirements.
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
