Position Summary:
The NDT Level II Technician at Acuren will be responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) procedures to evaluate the quality and integrity of materials, structures, and equipment. This position involves setting up and calibrating testing equipment, conducting tests to detect defects, and interpreting inspection results. The technician will ensure that testing methods follow all safety regulations and industry standards. Additionally, the NDT Level II Technician may instruct and supervise other technicians while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure it is operating correctly for various testing methods.
- Conduct NDT tests, including radiography (RT), magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), ultrasonic (UTT), and eddy current (CR) inspections to detect discontinuities and evaluate quality.
- Establish effective techniques for the inspection of materials and structures, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
- Apply established criteria to evaluate and interpret testing results, ensuring compliance with relevant specifications and standards.
- Organize and report test results accurately, documenting findings for further analysis and review.
- Perform specialized inspections based on the project's requirements, utilizing various NDT methods and technologies.
- Instruct and supervise other technicians, ensuring the proper application of NDT methods and safety practices.
- Maintain strict compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines while working in various industrial settings.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred.
- Certified Level II in RT, MT, PT, UTT, and CR.
- Strong understanding of NDT methods, procedures, and equipment.
- Proven ability to perform assigned NDT tasks effectively and interpret results.
- Experience in preparing detailed and accurate inspection reports.
- Adherence to safety practices and regulations in an industrial environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous hands-on experience in NDT testing and inspection, with at least 2 years of fieldwork in a similar role.
- Knowledge of NDT equipment and inspection procedures, with the ability to perform tasks efficiently and interpret complex data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting results and interacting with team members and clients.
- Experience in supervising or training junior technicians in NDT processes.
- High level of attention to detail when performing inspections and documenting results.
