Position Summary:

Acuren Inspection is seeking a Rope Access Level I/NDT Assistant Technician to join their team and support operations in the energy, industrial, and public infrastructure sectors. The role involves managing the safety of rope access crews, organizing work functions related to rope access jobs, and supervising technical and industrial services at heights. The technician will ensure compliance with IRATA standards and regulations to guarantee safe and efficient work performance. Preference will be given to candidates with an NDT or mechanical trades background.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform specific job functions as outlined in work orders related to rope access activities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in relevant work techniques and skills.
  • Assist other technicians as needed and contribute to the execution of technical services at heights.
  • Ensure the operational safety of all rope access equipment.
  • Be conversant with all the skills and knowledge required for a Level I Rope Access Technician.
  • Supervise rope access activities to maintain compliance with IRATA standards and regulations.
  • Provide support during inspections and other technical services, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

Requirements:

  • IRATA or SPRAT Level I Certification required, demonstrating proficiency in theoretical knowledge, equipment rigging, climbing, maneuvers, and rescue/hauling techniques.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Required certification levels for specific projects as per job requirements.
  • Must have prior industrial refinery experience.
  • Mechanical industrial experience is required.
  • NCCER certification (Trained Individual) is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Rope Access Level I Certification (IRATA or SPRAT).
  • Solid understanding and ability to perform rope access techniques.
  • Previous experience in industrial refinery environments.
  • Mechanical industrial experience, with hands-on knowledge of technical work in these sectors.
  • Strong safety awareness and the ability to operate and manage equipment safely.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with technicians and supervisors.
