Position Summary:
TEAM Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join its team. The NDT Technician will perform inspections independently using various NDT techniques to detect corrosion, defects, or other detrimental conditions based on specific written criteria. This role will require the technician to interpret inspection results, communicate findings to clients, and maintain all required documentation in line with company and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards, practices, and legal regulations, and report potential hazards or concerns to the team.
- Perform NDT inspections utilizing certified methods, including interpreting results and maintaining accurate inspection records.
- Assist senior technicians and instruct apprentice-level personnel on the job site.
- Maintain NDT certifications and continually study to gain further certifications and hands-on experience in various NDT methods.
- Perform any duties assigned by senior technicians and assist in supervisory activities over apprentices as needed.
- Ensure that inspections are performed accurately and in compliance with relevant specifications and safety standards.
- Organize and report the results of inspections, ensuring that all documentation is maintained in accordance with company guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and contribute to the professional development of junior technicians.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Basic understanding of math and the ability to work with Microsoft Word and computerized equipment.
- At least 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in a minimum of two NDT methods.
- Level II certification in at least one NDT method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in both field and office settings.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to safely handle chemicals and follow detailed instructions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-noise environments and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work at multiple job sites in one day and adapt to varying climate conditions.
Qualifications:
- Certification in NDT methods (Level II in PT, MT, UT, RT, ET).
- Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
- Experience in interpreting inspection results and preparing detailed reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with computerized equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform fieldwork in various physical conditions.
- Ability to climb and work at elevated platforms or in confined spaces.
