Position Summary:
TEAM Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to independently perform inspections utilizing a variety of NDT techniques to detect corrosion, defects, or other detrimental conditions in accordance with written specifications. The Technician will be responsible for conducting inspections, interpreting results, and reporting findings in compliance with company standards. Additionally, the Technician will communicate processes, procedures, and results to customers, ensuring clarity and quality throughout.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company and customer safety standards, legal regulations, and best practices, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Perform NDT inspections using certified methods and techniques, interpreting results and documenting activities according to company guidelines.
- Assist senior technicians and provide guidance to apprentice-level personnel on job sites.
- Study and pursue further NDT certifications to improve technical expertise and hands-on experience in a variety of NDT methods.
- Maintain NDT certifications and ensure all work performed is in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Review and report inspection results to management and clients, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Take on supervisory duties over apprentice-level personnel, offering instruction and support as needed.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by senior technicians, including task management and follow-through.
- Maintain a clear and organized record of inspection activities and any issues encountered during inspections.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic understanding of mathematics and the ability to work with Microsoft Word and other computer-based equipment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the NDT field as a certified technician in at least two NDT methods.
- Certification to Level II in at least one NDT method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, typically in plant or industrial settings.
- Must be able to travel as required, with up to 75% travel time possible.
- Ability to handle chemicals safely, following established protocols and safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and work in varying climates and conditions.
Work Conditions:
- The position is based out of a branch or site location, with field duties requiring both indoor and outdoor work in industrial environments.
- The role may involve working in plant or shop areas near production machinery with high noise levels.
- The technician must be capable of wearing the required safety equipment as mandated by the safety department.
- The position may involve travel to multiple job sites in a day and periodic out-of-town travel.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to walk, climb, and maneuver within plant environments, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders or stairwells.
- Clear communication abilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to ensure effective communication on the job.
- Sufficient vision and observational abilities to conduct investigations and accurately report findings.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform routine office duties and use office equipment as needed.
- Strong focus, multitasking skills, and the ability to handle various tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients.
