Position Summary:
TEAM, Inc. is seeking a skilled and certified NDT Level II Technician to join their team. This role involves independently performing inspections using various NDT techniques to identify corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions in accordance with specific written criteria. The Technician will be responsible for interpreting inspection results and communicating them to customers while adhering to safety standards. This position offers an opportunity for hands-on experience and growth in the NDT field, with potential for further certification.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to company and customer safety standards and practices, as well as legal regulations. Actively alert others regarding potential hazards or concerns.
- Perform assigned duties in alignment with TEAM’s Core Values and Seven Critical Choices.
- Assist senior technicians and provide on-the-job training to apprentice-level personnel.
- Study and work towards gaining NDT certifications, while assisting with hands-on experience in various NDT methods.
- Perform supervisory tasks over apprentice-level personnel when required.
- Maintain active NDT certification for the methods in which the technician is qualified.
- Perform NDT inspections and interpret the results, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Document all inspection activities and report results accurately.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Understanding of basic math.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and working with computers and computerized equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an NDT technician in at least two methods.
- Certification to Level II in at least one NDT method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) is preferred.
- Ability to handle chemicals in a safe manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a collaborative environment.
- Travel requirement: 0-75%.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.
Qualifications:
- Previous certification to Level II in at least one NDT method (PT, MT, UT, RT, ET) preferred.
- Ability to gain additional certifications and expand knowledge of NDT methods.
- Willingness to travel periodically and work in varying field conditions.
Work Conditions:
- This position is based out of a branch or site location, requiring both indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
- Frequent interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
- Work environments may involve extreme noise levels and proximity to production machinery.
- Must be able to tolerate climate changes and work at more than one job site in a day.
- May be required to travel out of town periodically.
- Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to walk, climb, and perform physical tasks, including accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Sufficient manual dexterity and vision to perform routine office duties and field inspections.
- Ability to work effectively in a refinery or plant environment, maneuvering within tight spaces and elevated platforms.
