FAI Technik, a leading provider of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services, has successfully completed a rare and comprehensive 7,800 landings’ inspection on a Bombardier Challenger 604. This milestone underscores the company’s advanced capabilities in aircraft safety and maintenance.

The inspection, requiring over 6,000 manhours, involved extensive disassembly of the aircraft, including engines, fuel tanks, APU, thrust reversers, and flight controls. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, such as X-ray, ultrasonic, eddy current, and magnetic inspections, were used to ensure the structural integrity of critical components without causing damage. NDT plays a pivotal role in aviation by detecting hidden flaws and ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards.

"Performing a 7,800 landings’ inspection is a complex and rare undertaking. I am proud of our team for their exceptional performance in delivering this project on time and to the satisfaction of our customer," said Michael Axtmann, Managing Director of FAI Technik. "Our ability to execute such intricate tasks reflects the unparalleled expertise of the team and the investments we’ve made in our MRO capabilities."

Alongside the inspection, FAI Technik completed a full cabin refurbishment, enhancing the 18-passenger configuration with superior comfort and functionality. The addition of a SwiftBroadband (Aviator 350) Satcom system further elevates the passenger experience by offering seamless in-flight connectivity.

This achievement solidifies FAI Technik’s position as one of Europe’s leading MRO providers for Bombardier Challenger aircraft. The company’s dual role as an operator and maintenance provider gives it unique insights into customer requirements, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Building on this success, FAI Technik is set to perform another 7,800 landings’ inspection on a Challenger 604 in January 2025, reaffirming its expertise in advanced aviation maintenance.
