The ASNT Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, has announced the appointment of four distinguished professionals to its Board of Trustees. These new trustees bring extensive experience and expertise to the Foundation, enhancing its mission to advance the field of nondestructive testing (NDT). The newly appointed trustees began their roles this month, joining the existing members to form a 14-member Board of Trustees.
Timothy Bieri, Vice President of Corrosion Engineering at bp, who brings over 25 years of experience in mechanical engineering and integrity management. Bieri holds a bachelor’s degree from Franklin University in Ohio and a master’s degree from the University of Alaska. He is also a registered Professional Engineer and a certified AMPP Internal Corrosion Specialist.
Matt Gormley, Director of Global Sales for Pinnacle X-Ray Solutions LLC, with 17 years of experience at Pratt & Whitney. Gormley holds a bachelor’s degree from Kettering University and two master’s degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and serves on the ASNT Workforce Development Working Group.
Eric Lindgren, NDE Technology Lead at the Air Force Research Laboratory, who has over 30 years of experience in NDE research and development. Lindgren holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He is a Fellow of both the Air Force Research Laboratory and ASNT.
Karen Smith, President of the Industrial Division at Evident Scientific, who has extensive experience in ultrasound instrumentation and test and measurement technology. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Union College and an MBA from Clark University.
