Baker Hughes, a leading energy technology company, has introduced an innovative solution for the hydrogen industry with its latest release: the Druck hydrogen-rated pressure sensors. These advanced sensors are engineered to provide exceptional stability over the long term and withstand the challenging environments associated with hydrogen applications.

Hydrogen, a crucial element in the transition toward a more sustainable and low-emission future, is gaining prominence across various industries. However, it poses challenges for equipment and infrastructure due to its potential to cause hydrogen embrittlement, which can degrade the performance of pressure sensors exposed to hydrogen gas.

The Druck hydrogen pressure sensors from Baker Hughes are designed to address these challenges effectively. They incorporate high-performance barrier coating technology, ensuring that the sensor elements remain protected from the detrimental effects of hydrogen exposure. This breakthrough technology guarantees a remarkable minimum lifespan of five years across a wide range of pressures, positioning these sensors as market leaders in longevity and performance.

Gordon Docherty, General Manager of Baker Hughes' Druck product line, highlighted the significance of this development: "The release of our new hydrogen technology enables customers to benefit from a pressure sensor that can withstand harsh hydrogen environments for the long term, while also providing advanced levels of accuracy and reliability. This is an exciting breakthrough in the world of pressure measurement."

The Druck hydrogen pressure sensors extend the capabilities of the well-regarded UNIK5000 family and the highly precise RPS/DPS8000 Series. They are available in two ranges, covering pressures from 700 bar (10.2 psi) to 700 bar (10,000 psi), making them versatile for various hydrogen-related applications.

Baker Hughes has a comprehensive portfolio that serves the entire hydrogen value chain, including production, transportation, and utilization. This portfolio encompasses advanced compressors, gas turbines, valves, centrifugal pumps, non-metallic pipes, hydrogen sensors, monitoring and diagnostics solutions, and clean power technologies for hydrogen production and utilization.

These cutting-edge Druck hydrogen pressure sensors from Baker Hughes will be showcased at the upcoming Hydrogen Technology Expo in Bremen, Germany, from September 27 to 28. This event offers an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to explore and experience these groundbreaking sensors up close.
