The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung e.V. (DGZfP) has marked a significant milestone in its efforts to advance non-destructive testing (NDT) by launching a dedicated DGZfP repository on NDT.net. This move follows the successful cooperation agreement signed between the two organizations earlier this year and is poised to enhance the visibility and accessibility of NDT knowledge globally.
The DGZfP’s primary goal has long been to centralize and make NDT knowledge widely accessible. By partnering with NDT.net, the organization aims to further this mission by creating a digital space for the long-term archiving and easy retrieval of DGZfP’s technical papers, conference materials, and seminar articles. The introduction of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for selected publications ensures these materials will be clearly identifiable, citable, and permanently accessible, thus increasing their reach and citation potential within the research community.
The new repository on NDT.net is an essential development in the pursuit of sustainable, centralized NDT knowledge management. Since 2001, NDT.net has archived various DGZfP publications, but with the new partnership, DGZfP now has its own dedicated space, marking a significant step forward. Current publications will be transferred to this new repository, and future materials will be continuously added. In line with the DGZfP’s ongoing efforts, the repository will include selected articles that are assigned DOIs, making it easier for global NDT professionals to access and cite valuable technical research.
This partnership further strengthens the role of NDT.net as a leading platform for NDT resources, enabling the community to share and exchange insights that drive the future of the industry. As part of the agreement, DGZfP also becomes NDT.net’s first institutional sponsor, enhancing its visibility on a global scale. DGZfP is now also prominently represented in NDT.net’s online exhibition, which further bolsters its presence in the global NDT community.
Through this strategic collaboration, DGZfP and NDT.net aim to provide a robust and reliable digital space where NDT professionals can find, access, and engage with critical industry knowledge, helping to advance non-destructive testing practices worldwide.
