Duncan Aviation has officially commenced construction on a new Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) designated overhaul facility (DOF) at its Lincoln, Nebraska location. The state-of-the-art 36,000-square-foot facility, set to be completed by 2026, will focus on servicing the PW300 and PW500 series engines, which power a range of business jets.

The new complex will house 12 maintenance bays, an advanced overhead crane system, and a 360-degree floor-mounted jib crane designed for comprehensive engine inspections. Additionally, it will include a parts warehouse, expanded back shops, and specialized rooms for engine balancing, painting, and cleanroom operations. Upon completion, the facility will also feature advanced non-destructive testing capabilities and equipment for media blasting and shot-peening.

A critical addition to the Lincoln site will be a new DOF test cell, capable of handling engines with up to 20,000 pounds of thrust, alongside a new control room and enhanced fuel farm. These expansions will significantly boost the facility’s capacity for engine testing, start air capabilities and generator loading.

Irene Makris, Vice President of Customer Service at Pratt & Whitney Canada, emphasized the significance of the new facility: “Duncan Aviation has been a trusted provider of maintenance and overhaul services for PW300 and PW500 engines for decades. This new facility strengthens our ability to provide world-class support and enhances our overall service efficiency.”

The expansion is expected to drive additional business for Duncan Aviation’s other services, including airframe maintenance, paint, avionics, and component services, attracting more customers who require P&WC engine overhauls.
