Dyne Testing, a brand of Intertronics, has unveiled the CleanoSpector, a cutting-edge handheld instrument designed for non-contact cleanliness inspection of metal surfaces. Specifically engineered to ensure the quality of industrial cleaning processes, the CleanoSpector allows manufacturers to verify the cleanliness of metal parts, detecting contaminants such as oils, grease, and coolants, before moving to the next stage of production.

Widely applicable across industries like automotive, medical device manufacturing, and aerospace, the CleanoSpector provides a fast, reliable way to inspect surfaces without damaging them. The instrument works by emitting focused UV light onto metal surfaces and measuring the fluorescence of any organic contaminants present. The results, displayed as a cleanliness percentage, help manufacturers ensure that parts meet stringent cleanliness standards, preventing issues down the production line.

“The CleanoSpector is designed for flexibility and efficiency, whether in a laboratory setting or on the factory floor,” said Alison Fox, Dyne Testing Brand Manager. “It’s versatile enough to be used on materials like metals, ceramics, and glass, and its adjustable spacers make it easy to inspect parts of various shapes.”

One of the key advantages of the CleanoSpector is its ability to monitor part cleanliness both after cleaning and as a pre-cleaning check to ensure contaminants stay within acceptable limits. This helps to identify deviations in cleaning processes or potential faults in cleaning systems early, significantly improving process reliability.
