Falcon Technic has been granted CAR 145 approval by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) for its Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. Announced at the Middle East and North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) Show 2024, this milestone reinforces the UAE’s status as a global leader in aviation excellence and innovation.
Falcon Technic’s state-of-the-art 13,705 sq.m. facility, located at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub in Dubai, is equipped to service a wide range of aircraft, including the Airbus A380. In addition to tailored services for VIP aircraft owners, the facility features private lounges, advanced workshops, and specialized capabilities such as non-destructive testing (NDT), interiors, wheels and brakes, batteries, and aircraft painting.
Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, commended the achievement, stating: “This CAR 145 approval is a testament to Falcon Technic's dedication to excellence in aviation maintenance. The GCAA is proud to support initiatives that advance the UAE's aviation ecosystem, positioning the nation at the forefront of global aviation standards and services. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to fostering innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth within the sector.”
The CAR 145 certification enables Falcon Technic to provide reliable, high-quality maintenance services for its Falcon Luxe fleet of Bombardier Global Express aircraft. Approvals for additional aircraft models, including Bombardier Challengers, Embraers, and Falcon 2000 Ex Easy, are also underway.
Highlighting the importance of reliable inspection practices in aviation safety, Falcon Technic has incorporated non-destructive testing (NDT) into its MRO offerings. NDT plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of aircraft components, detecting defects or structural issues without causing damage. By adopting NDT, Falcon Technic ensures compliance with regulatory standards while enhancing the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of its serviced aircraft.
Aqeel Ahmed Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General of the GCAA, emphasized: “Falcon Technic’s approval under CAR 145 underscores the UAE's commitment to maintaining world-class aviation standards. This achievement not only enhances Dubai’s reputation as a global aviation hub but also strengthens the UAE’s role in advancing the aviation sector regionally and internationally.”
The company’s specialized NDT services align with global best practices, offering precise inspections that contribute to safer, more efficient MRO processes. These capabilities are essential for adhering to rigorous safety standards and ensuring regulatory compliance in the aviation sector.
Tahnoon Saif, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, added: “The addition of Falcon Technic’s MRO facility aligns with Dubai’s vision to be a leader in private aviation. This state-of-the-art infrastructure reflects our dedication to providing innovative services and strengthening the UAE’s role as a hub for aviation excellence.”
With private jet traffic at the hub projected to reach 18,000 flights by the end of 2024, Falcon Technic is strategically positioned to meet the growing demand for comprehensive MRO services. Its commitment to incorporating advanced NDT techniques showcases how cutting-edge inspection practices underpin aviation safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance—key pillars of the global aviation industry.
