Guided Ultrasonics Ltd (GUL) has announced the launch of the gPIMS® HT sensor rings, an advanced, environmentally robust range of sensors designed for long-term pipe monitoring in high-temperature environments. These innovative sensors are engineered for straightforward bonding onto pipes and can be left in place for extended periods, offering seamless and efficient inspection solutions.

The gPIMS® HT sensors are ideal for process piping applications, capable of installation under insulation, and available in an intrinsically safe version for hazardous environments. Designed to withstand extreme temperatures, the sensors provide a reliable monitoring solution that ensures operational efficiency while minimizing maintenance efforts.

The gPIMS® HT sensors connect via cable to the gPIMS® Wi-Fi Field Control Unit (FCU) for automated data collection. In non-hazardous areas, they can also be connected to a Wavemaker® through a connection box for manual repeat testing, providing flexibility in various industrial applications.

The sensor technology integrates advanced materials, ensuring durability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions. Its low-profile design allows for efficient installation, reducing operational downtime and overall costs. The ATEX/IECEx-certified version of the gPIMS® HT sensor is specifically designed for use in hazardous atmospheres, expanding its applicability to critical industrial sectors.

The gPIMS® HT ring kits are available in two versions:
  • EFC: A 16-channel gPIMS® HT ring kit for high-temperature applications that do not require hazardous area certification.
  • EX: An ATEX/IECEx-certified 16-channel gPIMS® HT ring kit designed for high-temperature applications in hazardous atmospheres.
Technical Specifications:
  • Number of Channels: 16
  • Nominal Pipe Size: 2” to 48” (DN 50 to 1200)
  • Pipe Thickness: 3 mm to 50 mm (0.12” to 2”)
  • Process Temperature: -40°C to 200°C (-40°F to 392°F)
  • Radial Clearance: 40 mm (1.6”)
  • Axial Clearance: 220 mm (8.7”)

Guided Ultrasonics Ltd continues to push the boundaries of inspection technology, offering cutting-edge solutions that enhance operational safety and efficiency across industries. The introduction of the gPIMS® HT sensors underscores GUL's commitment to innovation, providing industries with reliable and effective monitoring tools for challenging environments.
